The AI cheats in almost every strategy game. It's kind of sad they cannot make a challenging game without letting the AI blatantly cheat like this. Simply put bro, AI programming is hard, and expensive, and so very few strategy games even attempt to bother with it. All because I didn't have the forsite to forgo any real 'playing' and just stick with cheese-tactics. And yes I gave him directions with influence cost and you know what he does? 10 turns of 'we're almost there, No really!' he's a half screen away from it and I can see his units going nowhere near it. I'm on turn 40-something and i'm about to restart because most of the quest have already failed and i'm sick of playing whack-a-mole with AI's that can have a fully functional army stack built in the time it takes me to build 1 unit while my only ally plays patty-cake with the locals. I don't have improperly made cities, i'm not hurting for resources. I read online that i'm supposed to cheese my hero's and use the mutant mods to make them ungodly killing machines that can wipe out 3 stacks on their own, well I didnt read that on the mission notes so I didnt do that. I'M STILL TRYING TO REBUILD THE 1-3 UNITS I LOST FROM THE LAST FIGHT BUT HERE COMES THAT JERK I JUST KILLED 6 TURNS LATER WITH A WHOLE NEW FRESH ARMY FULLY MODDED! When I kill their leader and wipe them out.another one shows up a few turns later.

And how do I have to deal with it? They come in with 50% more army power than I have every few turns and I have to catch up to them and wipe them out or recover one of my cities. The Chancellor is an idiot twiddling his thumbs and starting fights, too busy beating the marauders with his overpowered army and doing literally nothing helpful and declaring war on every other faction on the map that I NOW have to deal with. Right now I am playing on 'normal difficulty' in the sharkarn campaign, second map. Just buff them into something that doesnt have to be smart. But you know whats real easy? Just dumping resources and cheats onto the AI players. Programmers that can do it effectively are expensive and they would still take an unbelievably long time to code in enough variables to give the player a real challenge and keep everything even. Programming tactically thinking AI is hard.
